It’s getting white out there!

December 1, 2025

The 2025 paddling season is a wrap.  Hungry Jack Lake froze over a few days ago while we were away over the Thanksgiving holiday.  We also got enough snow that the surface is not really skate worthy.  We are hoping for some “wild ice” on some on the larger lakes that have yet to freeze.

We had a great year.  Lots of fun people through the door this year and great staff to help them with all their needs.  No natural disasters to content with and overall pretty nice weather for paddlers and cabin guests alike.  Despite what some may have experienced it was a fairly light bug year too.

While I’d like to say our visions turn to sugar plums this time of year it’s really already beginning to focus on next summer.

We’ll be looking for new staff this coming summer.  Send us an email if you are interested.  We’ll have a formal invitation and job app up shortly.

There are still some canoes available for sale.  They are all carefully put away at the moment but will be out and ready for new homes in late April or early May depending on how much snow we get.

Meanwhile, we’re enjoying some less busy time, making time to pursue our other passions and take it easy just a bit.  At this moment there is a really strong sun shining on the keyboard that makes me want to get outside and soak some up.

Thank you all for trusting us with your vacation plans.  We hope you find time to enjoy your passions and be with the people you care about in this holiday season.

Be well,

Dave, Nancy, Ben and the team.
