BWCAW Closed to all use through Friday July 24

Howdy folks,

It’s a sort of beautiful day here at Hungry Jack Lake.  A little smokey but really quite nice overall.  Birds were singing away this morning and there was dew – which is a great indicator.  It also cooled way down overnight.

The news is that the USFS has extended the BWCAW closure notice through Friday July 24.  All permits will be cancelled and permit fees will be refunded.  No travelling in the BW at all, even for day use.  We’ve contacted all our guests who had reservations through Friday and explained the situation.

For July 25th and beyond…  I think there’s actually a chance those trips for entries in the eastern section of the BW could happen – or not.  We’ll work with folks as we know more.  We just don’t know, can’t lnow and won’t know anything more for a few days what will happen.
