BWCAW Permits 2019

New for 2019!

BWCAW permit reservations will have a new process this year.  A new company has the contract to reserve, manage and issue permits.  We will still be reserving permits for most of our guests so if you want to continue with us reserving a permit for you that won’t change.

What will change is:

We will need name and email addresses for alternate leaders at the time of reservation.  We will also need names for all members actually going on the trip when the permit is issued.  There is also a new BWCAW educational movie – YEAH!  

When you reserve a permit you, as group leader and all alternate leaders, will get an email with a link to the first section of video.  It’s about planning and basic rules.  A few days before your trip you’ll get another video link via email with more information about planning your trip.  When you arrive here at HJO your whole group will get to watch the third and final video.  Each section is about 3 minutes and the new video is well done and worth the time.  You might even recognize some of the scenery and faces in the movie.

BWCAW permits open up on January 30, 2019.  Unless you’re looking at a popular entry on one of the big weekends early in the year you don’t need to worry about being in that first round.  But remember, permits are finite and options are fewer as time goes by.
